Aqua Coolkeeper Bandana

If your dog suffers from heat on summery days, the Aqua Coolkeeper Bandana can be the solution. This is based on the same principle as the Aqua Coolkeeper Collar but also has an extra area covering your dog's chest. To use this bandana, you don't need a fridge or freezer, just water. When you place the bandana into the water, the specially developed HydroQuartz in the product is activated, this forms an actively cooling gel. This absorbs your dog's body heat and then releases it through evaporation. This makes direct and constant cooling possible. The cooling effect continues for up to 5 days (the actual effect can be affected by the circumstances).

Dogs and high temperatures

Dogs are unable to lose their excess body heat by sweating like people do. This is because they hardly have any sweat glands. Dogs can only regulate their body temperature by panting or by sweating through their paw pads. However, in this way, an animal can only release a small portion of its excess body heat. This makes dogs sensitive to overheating or heat stroke, which can lead to lasting damage to organs, a coma or in severe cases even death. Use

Place the Aqua Coolkeeper in cold water and your dog will get cool relief within a few minutes. The bandana is easy to place around your dog's neck using Velcro. The cooling effect of the collar continues for up to 5 days (the actual effect can be affected by the circumstances). You can keep reusing the Aqua Coolkeeper.

Tip: For a longer haired dog, it takes a little longer for the cooling effect to reach the skin, but even then the bandana will cool your dog. You can try to place the bandana under the long hair, improving the skin contact.

Immersion time

Please note: Every Aqua Coolkeeper has its own maximum submersion time and a maximum thickness that can be reached in water. Do not exceed these limits, because there is a risk of the HydroQuartz crystals coming out through the seams. The Aqua Coolkeeper Bandana has a maximum immersion time of 30 seconds.

After submersion (and drying is necessary), the product will not feel ice cold, as this is a very unpleasant feeling for your pet (as it is in humans). However, the gel will extract sufficient heat from the animal and release it through evaporation. We do not recommend putting the product in the refrigerator and then immediately using it on your pet, because the Aqua Coolkeeper might then feel too cold and the pet cannot tell you this. Even though the bandana absorbs water, it will still feel completely dry afterwards. The bandana will not feel wet.

What if the Aqua Coolkeeper Bandana doesn't fit?

The Aqua Coolkeeper Bandana can be removed from the packaging and held up next to your pet in order to check whether it fits. For hygiene reasons, the bandana cannot be returned if it has come into contact with your pet. If we find that the returned product is stained, worn, contains dog hair, smells or has been washed after use, we cannot return the product to you. Once you've submerged the bandana, the HydroQuartz crystals are activated and the product will no longer be in an as-new state. In this event, the product will be donated to a charity (local shelter). As we are often confronted with Aqua Coolkeeper products that are returned in a less than new condition, we have to apply these rules for fitting and/or returning products.

[p] [p]After immersing (and possibly drying), the product will not feel ice cold, which would be a particularly unpleasant feeling for the animal (just like with humans). Nevertheless, the gel will extract sufficient heat from the pet and dissipate it via evaporation. It is not recommended to put the product in the refrigerator and then immediately use it on your pet because the Aqua Coolkeeper might be too cold. Even though the bandana soaks up with water, it feels completely dry after soaking.

After you have submerged the Aqua Coolkeeper in the water for the first time, you may notice small gel particles appearing along the seams. This is not a manufacturing defect of your Aqua Coolkeeper product. The product may push out small pieces of the cooling crystals that are hiding in the seams. If you see any of these gel particles on your product after soaking, simply wipe it off with a towel. This can occur after the first or second immersion. Once the gel particles are wiped off, they don't come back. The gel is 100% non-toxic.
