The Bombay is an affectionate and especially soft-hearted breed. They like to be pet, but can be a bit mistrusting of unfamiliar people. Bombays don’t like being alone. They’re generally accepting of dogs but less patient towards cats. In general, the Bombay is an easy-going cat that’s quick to adapt. Bombays are self-assured and curious. This active cat is an excellent hunter and exceptionally agile. Their voice is a tad raspy and their coat doesn’t require a lot of care.

The Bombay is completely black, including their skin and the soles of their paws.
Body, legs and tail
The medium-sizes Bombay is neither compact nor lean. They have powerful shoulders and a broad chest. Their bone structure is substantial and their muscles well developed. Bombays are proportionally long and their round paws are small to medium-sized. Their straight tail is medium in length, quite thick and tapers to a point.
Head, ears and eyes
The Bombay has a medium-sized, rounded head with no sharp angles. Their forehead is rounded, their cheeks well developed and their nose wide. Their nose is slightly rounded. They have a strong, round chin and powerful jaws. Their medium-sized ears are wide at the base, with blunt tips. Both the ears and the eyes are widely set. Their big, round eyes are brightly coloured, ranging from gold to copper.
Coat
The Bombay have a short and glossy coat that’s close to the body and a very thin undercoat. The coat has a satiny feel.
