The Burmese is known as an outgoing and lively cat. This cat is very adventurous and not easily frightened. Body, legs and tail

There are two different types; the American Burmese and the English Burmese. The American Burmese has an even build and is fairly compact. His muscles and bones are very well developed. The English Burmese is slightly slimmer and less compact in physique than the American Burmese. The length of the legs is in proportion to the length of the body. The American Burmese mainly has round and medium-sized feet and the English Burmese has slightly smaller oval feet. The tail is also different in both types. For example, the tail of an American Burmese is thick at the start and the tail of the English Burmese is slim.

Head, ears and eyes

The head of an American Burmese looks different from that of an English one. The head of an American Burmese is somewhat rounded with a round snout. The head of an English Burmese is slightly more triangular. The eyes of a Burmese are set far apart and are very bright in colour. A Burmese’s ears are medium in size with rounded tips.

Coat

The fur of a Burmese is very short and fine. A Burmese is known for its shiny coat. A Burmese almost has no undercoat. This makes caring for the Burmese very easy. Brushing once a week is sufficient.
