Dyspnoea

Dyspnoea, also known as shortness of breath, is much less common in cats, but can be caused by respiratory conditions. Symptoms include listlessness, obvious breathing difficulty and a shortness of breath that could lead to coughing and wheezing. Most noticeably, the cat will usually start breathing with their mouth open and pant like a dog. You should contact your veterinarian if you notice any of these symptoms.
