Key features of Cisaral Drops
- Improves the barrier between the oesophagus and stomach (increasing the pressure in the lower oesophageal sphincter.)
- Stimulates the ability of the stomach to contract.
- Improves the co-operation between the stomach and the small intestine.
- Accelerates gastric emptying as well as the emptying of the small and large intestines.
Emptying of the gastrointestinal tract
These effects are based mainly on the release of acetylcholine from cholinergic neurons in the myenteric plexus, and therefore only affect the smooth muscle layer of the gastrointestinal tract. Therefore, the production of stomach acid and intestinal juices are not affected. By stimulating the emptying of the gastrointestinal tract, intestinal cramps and diarrhoea may occur. If this condition persists, please contact your veterinarian.
Cisaral Drops are recommended for:
Promoting of gastric emptying
Not suitable for:
Intestinal obstruction or intestinal perforations
Administration and Dosage:
- SHAKE BEFORE USE!
- For oral administration only.
- The dose is 0.25 to 0.5 mg per kg of body weight 2 to 4 times a day (= 0.25 to 0.5 ml per kg of body weight 2 to 4 times daily).
