Hill's j/d mini dog food has a unique formula. The high content of omega-3 fatty acids soothes inflamed tissue and relieves painful joints. It helps to maintain joint cartilage thanks to high levels of EPA (a special omega-3 fatty acid from fish oil). Glucosamine and chondroitin provide the foundations for healthy cartilage, and added L-carnitine helps to maintain optimal body weight. Canine j/d mini improves the quality of life by helping dogs run and play more easily, and improving their all round mobility.

Joint problems in dogs

Joint problems are very common in dogs. The most common type is osteoarthritis, a degenerative condition in which the cartilage of a particular joint is affected. As many as 20% of dogs 1 year and older have osteoarthritis to some degree. The most common symptoms of joint disorders are: stiffness after activity, difficulty getting up and getting started again after a rest period (start lameness), reduced activity, lameness, swelling of the joint, painful to touch, restricted mobility of the affected joint, stretching and/or bending less, repeatedly licking the joint (can be a result of pain and swelling), loss of appetite, or changes in behaviour, especially irritability caused by the pain.
