Hypozin injector paste for horses is a completely safe and secure way of maintaining a strong, healthy frog. The product strengthens, supports and protects the frog, giving them a chance to recover.

Hypozin includes a high concentration of zinc oxide. Zinc oxide has dehydrating, diuretic properties which as a result protect the product against the horse's bodily fluids (urine and faeces), as well as moisture in the stable. Zinc oxide also has an itch relieving and cooling effect on the frog, and its antiseptic properties repel algae and fungi.

The balanced Hypozin formula allows it to offer long lasting hoof protection.

Thrush
Thrush is a bacterial infection which occurs in the central sulcus of the hooves. The bacteria can only survive in an environment that is air tight. The infection causes a stinking inflammatory fluid to build up, which if not properly treated can cause the hoof to rot.
Thrush is caused by a combination of prolonged exposure to dirt and moisture and poor hoof care.
Signs of Thrush include a foul typical odour, as well as a blackening and softening of the hoof.
Thrush is a treatable condition if it is handled properly. Hypozin paste works by soothing, restoring, and protecting the hoof so that it has a chance to recover naturally.

Usage

Nurturing:
During thrush treatment, it is important to thoroughly clean the hoof first. Any rotting parts should be cut away by a farrier. It is important to expose the decaying area to the air as this will reduce the growth of the bacteria causing thrush.

After these steps, a Hypozin layer may be applied to the cleaned areas. After the product has had time to dry, the area should now be disinfected. Repeat this process daily until a satisfactory result is achieved.

Preventive:
Besides regular trimming, Hypozin is the ideal way to clean the hooves in order to prevent thrush. If the hoof pad is becoming softer, treat it with a layer of Hypozin.

Hypozin contains 100 grams per injector. This is sufficient for a treatment of 3 to 4 weeks.

Composition

• Zinc combination: slightly astringent, dehydrating and diuretic, relieving/cooling, resistant to algae and fungi, antiseptic.
• Demiwater: Prevents unwanted reactions with the ingredients and also reduces the risk of bacteriological deterioration.
• Glycerin: This is added to give a smoothing and softening effect to the hoof.
