Katkor is a non-absorbent cat litter, suitable for collecting urine samples. The granules will allow you to collect urine for analysis by your veterinarian, whether for urinary crystals, density, blood, protein etc. If a urine sample is required for bacterial analysis, it is recommended to get it done professionally by your vet. Katkor can also be used to collect faeces in order to examine for worm eggs and other digestive issues. To fill up the litter you need several bags of Katkor.

Method:

Scrub the bowl clean and sprinkle the granules into the tray. After the cat has urinated, use the dropper provided to suck the granules into the tube. Collected samples should be delivered to the vet as soon as possible, and stored in the refrigerator if the veterinary surgery is closed. Take into account the opening times of your veterinary surgery when collecting samples, to prevent samples being refrigerated for too long.
