Orijen Freeze Dried Whole Prey Dog Treats
Dogs have evolved as carnivores, biologically adapted to thrive on a diet rich and varied in fresh meat and fresh fish, supplemented with vegetables, fruits and grasses. The ingredients of Orijen Freeze Dried Whole Prey Dog Treats include chicken, turkey, lamb and wild-caught fish. This meat is delivered fresh daily and freeze-dried by the producer. The dog treats from Orijen Freeze Dried Whole Prey are available in 9 different flavours.
Freeze-dried
The ingredients for Orijen Freeze Dried dog food are frozen following delivery to the producer. They are then subjected to the eighteen-hour freeze-dry process, reaching low temperatures down to -50 degree C. During this process, the frozen water content of the ingredients is converted into vapour, removing only the water from the food and retaining all other nutrients.
Orijen
Orijen's natural pet food is made using fresh, local ingredients. The evolution of dogs and cats is taken into account when selecting the ingredients. Historically, their food consisted of fresh meat and was rich in protein. The ingredients are locally sourced (Alberta, Canada). Orijen Biologically Appropriate is prepared with ingredients that are derived of 80% meat and fish and 20% vegetables, fruit and herbs. It does not contain grains, potatoes, beet pulp or other ingredients.
Biologically Appropriate
Biologically Appropriate animal food consists of nearly 100% fresh ingredients. The contents are adapted to the animal's natural requirements. Another facet of Biologically Appropriate is that the food is adapted to suit the animal's digestive system. This is why the products are grain-free, free of aromas, colourings, flavourings and other additives, GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms) and antibiotics.
