Atopic Dermatitis
Atopic Dermatitis is an allergic reaction to substances in the dogs environment (pollen, flakes, dust mites, etc.), which is shown mainly in the form of skin disorders. It is a chronic condition where the symptoms may occur repeatedly or continuously. Although the condition cannot be cured, with proper treatment such as a special diet, the symptoms can be kept under control for many years.
Royal Canin Skin Support
Nutrition can play an important role in the treatment of skin problems in dogs and cats. Royal Canin has carried out extensive research into the effect of nutrition to the skin. Based on these findings, they developed Royal Canin Skin Support for the treatment of atopic dermatitis, wound healing, and other skin conditions associated with inflammation, itching, and hair loss.

Key features
The addition of aloe vera, vitamin C, taurine and curcumin (antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effect) to Royal Canin Skin Support helps the natural immune system of the skin and promotes healing. Royal Canin Skin Support contains a very high EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) content, to reduce the long-chain omega-3-fatty acids that help limit skin reactions. High concentrations of biotin, niacin and pantothenic acid in combination with zinc support the skin's natural defences, reduce water loss and strengthen the barrier effect of the skin. Antioxidants (vitamin E, vitamin C, taurine and lutein) protect the body from the damaging effects of free radicals.
Advice
Royal Canin Skin Support must usually be used for 2 months before visible results can be achieved. In chronic skin disease it is advised to provide Royal Canin Skin Support for life.
