SANIMED  Senior Cat is a complete food for cats over 8 years old.

In older cats, it is important to maintain condition and to minimise loss of function. SANIMED Senior Cat uses specially selected ingredients, making it suitable for all cat breeds.

SANIMED Senior reduces the risk of the most common causes of death or euthanasia, such as urinary tract disorders, kidney failure, heart failure, diabetes mellitus and cancer. Thanks to high quality raw materials, the diet is easy to digest. Due to a lower protein content, the liver and kidneys are put under less strain.

Disorders:

Urinary tract disorders caused by bladder stones or struvite are also common in older cats. Besides struvite, we often see oxalate in the older cat. This is another form of urinary calculi that occurs exclusively in older cats. Urinary tract support is possible through low urinary pH and low concentrations of the struvite-forming components (magnesium, ammonium, phosphate).

Kidney failure is one of the most common conditions in cats, alongside cystitis, and occurs in 30% of cats over 15 years old. in a cat with kidney failure, the kidneys no longer function properly. Unfortunately, this cannot be repaired. A cat's kidneys, like those of humans, have a large reserve capacity. It is only when more than 70% of the kidneys are affected that symptoms appear.

A good health diet reduces the risk of these conditions. Sanimed Senior Cat is tailored to the specific needs of the ageing cat. It contains a low protein content to relieve the kidneys.
