    Specific Crystal Management FCW

Urinary crystals are a common problem for cats. Urinary crystals occur in the urinary tract. Bladder crystals like struvite and calcium-oxolate are especially common in cats. Specific Crystal Management FCW is a specially developed diet food that contributes to the healthy kidney function of your cat. For cats with urinary crystals and (a predilection for) obesity, there is the Specific Crystal Management Light FCD-L

    Key features

    • Crystal Management FCW helps to lessen the formation of new bladder crystals in your cat.
    • The food has a low content of minerals that can cause urinary crystals, such as phosphor and magnesium.
    • The food increases the acidity of your cat's urine. This contributes to the dissolution of struvite crystals that are already present. It also helps prevent the formation of new bladder crystals.
    • Crystal Management FCW contains extremely easily digestible ingredients, so your cat can easily absorb all the nutrients. This also means your cat will have a less frequent need to visit the cat toilet.
    • The food contains omega 3 fatty acids, which provide additional support for your cat's skin, coat and joints.
    • This food is also suitable for healthy, adult cats who need some extra energy.
    • The food is safe for long-term use because of its low salt content.

    Recommended for:

    • Dissolving already present struvite crystals.
    • Preventing the formation of new struvite and calcium oxalate crystals.
    • Lessening urine tract conditions such as bladder infections.
    • Healthy cats with a heightened energy need.

    Not suitable for:

    • Use in combination with other urine acidifiers.
    • Kittens younger than 6 months.
    • Pregnant or lactating cats.
    • Cats with an unbalanced body pH level.

    Ingredients

Pork, corn, sunflower oil, egg powder, fish oil, minerals, vitamins and trace minerals, (including chelated trace minerals), psyllium husk, dextrose, xylose, methionine, cellulose powder, taurine, chondroitin sulphate. Does not contain added artificial colour or flavour enhancers.

  • Something my fussy cat likes at last!
By Jane Perkin, Wednesday 17 July 2024

My 12 year old female British shorthair cat has a history of struvite bladder crystals, and had to have an operation to remove several stones a year and a half ago. Since then, she has had to be on a special diet to stop them forming again. This special food is not always easy to find and, often, when I do manage to track some down, she either doesn't like it,or it is sold in ridiculously large quantities (e.g 60 packets) at a correspondingly high price. I'm not prepared to fork out £60 on 60 packets of food then find she won't eat it! When I found this reasonably priced food in a small quantity,I thought I'd give it a go. And to my delight, she loves it! Will definitely be ordering some more.

  • Both cats love it

My one 8 year old male cat has been diagnosed with struvite crystals. He was put on this particular wet (and dry) brand of food to keep it at bay. It is SO hard to find, even from my own vets. Happy I found it here. I had put his brother on it as well, since its hard to keep one from eating the other's food. To us humans this wet food smells horrific, but if it keeps the lads healthy then I am all for it.
