    Food hypersensitivity

Food hypersensitivity means that your cat has an excessive or allergic reaction to certain ingredients in food. This can be treated with special diet foods which do not contain the ingredients that cause reactions in your cat. A food hypersensitivity diagnosis is made based on the results of an elimination diet. Such a diet is sometimes referred to as hypoallergenic, and includes a single protein and a single carbohydrate source, which are known to rarely cause hypersensitive reactions.

    TROVET Hypoallergenic RRD (Rabbit) Cat

TROVET Hypoallergenic RRD - Rabbit Rice Diet contains a single protein source (rabbit) and a single carbohydrate source (rice). The diet should be used for 3-8 weeks, and should be your cat's only source of food. The diet prevents food allergies or food intolerances that appear in the form of skin complaints and/or gastrointestinal problems. Not all symptoms will immediately reduce or disappear. Skin conditions usually improve slowly over time. If symptoms decrease or disappear entirely, a food allergy can be diagnosed.TROVET Hypoallergenic RRD (Rabbit) Cat also contains all of the essential nutrients in optimal amounts.

Also available in TROVET Hypoallergenic RRD (Rabbit) Cat dry food.

Jet our boy kitten loves this food. Can’t get enough. He has a very tender stomach with severe ulcers. If the amazing vet hadn’t recommended this food not sure where we would have been. The fact he loves it helps.

  • A life saver
By Neil, Saturday 31 August 2024

My cat has several environmental and food allergies, confirmed by testing. Exclusively indoors, we can manage the environment, but food has been challenging. Relocating from Australia to the UK, we tried everything for RC HA, crocodile meat, venison, goat, and even snake, as a strict elimination diet. I had pretty much given up and managed with ongoing pred. Then I saw this food and thought I’d give it a go… My cat has been on this diet for 2 weeks now and has not had a single dose of pred; the first time in almost 5 years. This food has been a gamechanger and a lifesaver for a previously stressed and helpless pet parent.

Product seems to have changed consistency. Seems more jelly/moist whereas used to be dryer consistency with rice like texture. Doesn’t look as good quality as when first started buying. Can’t fault Vetsend.
