Obesity

A cat is considered overweight (obese) when it is at least 15% heavier than its ideal weight, which is currently the case for more than half of all cats. Overweight kittens are also at risk of becoming overweight in later life. Cats that have been spayed/neutered, as well as certain breeds, have an increased risk of obesity. The same is true for older cats as they are less active.
