Virbac Recharge
Recharge from Virbac is a sports drink for horses: a concentrated, tasty solution of electrolytes and glucose. Virbac Recharge promotes immediate recovery of moisture and electrolyte deficiencies as a result of sweating during strenuous exercise, competitions and transportation of (competition) horses and in case of diarrhoea. The composition is comparable to that of horse sweat and also contains glucose for a direct energy supply. A quick supply of electrolytes stimulates water intake.
Key features
- Immediately recovers electrolyte concentrations, rehydrates (good moisture balance) and stimulates water intake.
- Contains glucose for energy and support for electrolyte intake.
- Stimulates the natural thirst stimulation of horses.
- Liquid with a tasty apple flavour.
Application
Virbac Recharge is recommended for:
- (Competition) horses before, during or after transport.
- After a loss of electrolytes as a result of sweating, for example.
- Rehydration (good moisture balance) after illness or diarrhoea.
- Horses that show symptoms of dehydration.
Dosage
The concentrated solution can be administered orally using a syringe to the back of the tongue. Recharge can be diluted with clean, fresh drinking water to create an isotonic solution. The prescribed dosage is for 450-500 kg horses. For ponies weighing less than 350 kg, halve the dosage. Preventive measures: always provide your horse with plenty of cool, clean and fresh drinking water.
Special doses- For endurance: 60-80 ml administered orally, during the event or at checkpoints, with a syringe to the back of the tongue, provided that there is fresh drinking water available.
- For transport: 40-60 ml to the back of the tongue with plenty of fresh drinking water, every 30-60 minutes before transport. Repeat every 2-3 hours during transport and on arrival if necessary.
Packaging
1L bottle contains 16 doses for an average horse weighing 450-500 kg.
